A Life of Myths

In a physical world, where we can almost never determine the certainty of events, the honesty of favors, the altruism of charities, and the good will of visitors, I seek to dwell in the realm of fiction, where things did happen at least somewhere between the covers of a book.

The realm of fiction is a nice place to live but is it possible to live in the realm of fiction: in the stories and books? Isn't it just a wish? A beautiful dream?

Yes, it is a dream, even a “wild” one, maybe. But it’s possible. When it takes you somewhere else, to a place where you feel a different set of joys and sorrows, and you no more feel your immediate life (and this is the characteristic of a dream, too), why, tell me, isn’t it possible?

Because you can't live there forever. At most for some hours and then there's this "physical world" that you have to go back to. It may be a short distraction from joys and sorrows of this real world but not a permanent one. Is it?

It is. You can be kept “distracted” for years, long after you’ve put the book back on the shelf. Even forever. You just should connect.

Well, I do agree on the point that you can be kept distracted forever. I suppose the books we read live with us forever but can we ignore the "physical world" completely?

One thing you learn from living in fiction is to treat the world differently. And once you learn this, you won’t need to ignore anything.

Yes, that's right. It is a really nice post. Good luck!

fiction: kinda distraction which gives you awareness and those who ignore this will ignore everything in real world..> a nice paradox in itself..:)
